Odontites vulgaris, commonly known as Broomrape, is a species in the family Orobanchaceae. It was first described by Moench in 1794. This plant is distributed across various regions including Newfoundland, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, parts of Russia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the conterminous 48 United States, Vermont in the U.S., and Afghanistan.

Description

Odontites vulgaris is a member of the Orobanchaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly referred to as the broomrape family.
