Alnus maritima is a shrub or small tree belonging to the Betulaceae family. It is native to the United States and occurs naturally in three separate populations: Oklahoma, Georgia, and the Delmarva Peninsula, which includes Maryland and Delaware.

Description

Alnus maritima (Brook Alder) is a member of the Betulaceae family and is found in disjunct populations in the United States. Its native range includes Oklahoma, Georgia, and the Delmarva Peninsula, where it is present in Maryland and Delaware. The species was first described in 1842 and is not found outside of these regions.
