Bromelia hieronymi is a plant in the Bromeliaceae family, found in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. It is used by the Wichí people for weaving and produces anti-inflammatory agents in its fruit.

Description

Bromelia hieronymi, described by Mez in 1891, is a member of the Bromeliaceae family and is native to Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The plant is utilized by the Wichí people as a source of fiber for weaving, known as chaguar. Additionally, the fruit of this species secretes anti-inflammatory agents. It is part of the genus Bromelia and is distributed across the Northeast and Northwest regions of Argentina, as well as Bolivia and Paraguay.
