Persoonia levis, known as broadleaf geebung, is a shrub native to New South Wales and Victoria in eastern Australia. It can grow up to 5 m tall, with dark grey papery bark and bright green, asymmetrical, sickle-shaped leaves. The plant produces small yellow flowers in summer and autumn, followed by small green fleshy drupes. It belongs to the Lanceolata group within the genus Persoonia and can interbreed with several other species in overlapping ranges.
Description
Persoonia levis is a member of the Proteaceae family and is found in New South Wales and Victoria. The shrub features leaves up to 14 cm long and 8 cm wide. Its flowers appear seasonally and are succeeded by drupes. This species is part of a group of 58 closely related Persoonia species and exhibits hybridization with others in shared habitats.
