Breynia cernua is a flowering plant species found in Australia and Malesia, growing as a shrub up to 2 m tall. It is likely pollinated by leafflower moths and is commonly known as fart bush.
Description
Breynia cernua (Poir.) Müll.Arg., a member of the family Phyllanthaceae, is native to regions including Borneo, Java, the Lesser Sunda Islands, New Guinea, the Northern Territory, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, and Sulawesi. This shrub can reach a height of 2 meters and is part of the genus Breynia. The plant is presumably pollinated by leafflower moths, similar to other species in the genus. It is known by the informal name fart bush. The species was first described in 1866.
