Brachychiton compactus is a species of tree in the Malvaceae family, native to Queensland, Australia. It is found in a limited area on the central coast near Proserpine and in fragmented habitats on Hayman Island.

Description

Brachychiton compactus, described by Guymer in 1989, is a tree species within the genus Brachychiton. It is endemic to northeastern Australia, specifically Queensland. The species occurs in a very restricted range on the central coast of Queensland near Proserpine and is also found in fragmented araucarian vine thickets on Hayman Island. This species is part of the Malvaceae family, which includes a variety of flowering plants commonly known as the mallow family.
