Ephedra aspera, commonly known as Boundary Ephedra, is a species of Ephedra native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is found in regions including California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Mexico. The plant is adapted to a range of woodland and scrub habitats.

Description

Ephedra aspera, also known as rough jointfir or pitamoreal, is a member of the Ephedraceae family. It was first described in 1882 and is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, including areas such as California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Mexico as far south as Zacatecas. This species is a resident of diverse woodland and scrub plant communities, demonstrating adaptability to various environmental conditions.
