Fuchsia boliviana is a species in the genus Fuchsia, belonging to the family Onagraceae. It was first described in 1876 by Carrière. The species is commonly known as Bolivian fuchsia. It is native to several regions, including the Azores, Madeira, São Jorge Island, Terceira Island, and various locations in Colombia such as Cuenca río Totare, Chía, and the Parque Nacional Natural Tatamá. It has also been recorded in other areas like Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Quindío, Santander, Tolima, and in Jardín Botánico de Bogotá.

Description

Fuchsia boliviana is distributed across multiple islands and regions, including the Açores, Madeira, Canary Islands, and parts of South America. It has been documented in specific localities such as Palomar, Guaimaral, and la Flor at elevations of 2100–2750 msnm. The species has also been observed in the Sede del Instituto Caro y Cuervo and the Bosque Renace. Its presence has been noted in countries like Ecuador (EC), New Zealand (NZ), and Spain (ES), as well as in botanical gardens and protected natural areas.
