Bolbitis lonchophora is a fern species in the family Dryopteridaceae, native to several Pacific island groups including the Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Samoa, the Society Islands, Tonga, the Tubuai Islands, and Vanuatu. It was first described in 1934 by Christen C. Raunkiaer, based on earlier work by Kunze.

Description

Bolbitis lonchophora is a member of the Dryopteridaceae, a family of ferns commonly known as the wood ferns. This species is distributed across multiple island regions in the Pacific Ocean, including the Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, Samoa, the Society Islands, Tonga, the Tubuai Islands, and Vanuatu. The species was formally published in 1934 by Christen C. Raunkiaer, who based his description on the earlier taxonomic work of Kunze. It belongs to the genus Bolbitis, which is characterized by its terrestrial or epiphytic growth habit and typically features elongated, lance-shaped fronds.
