Parnassia palustris, known as Bog Star, is a flowering plant in the family Celastraceae. It is native to regions in North America and Europe, including Labrador, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and parts of Flanders and Elverum.

Description

Parnassia palustris is a member of the Celastraceae family and is commonly referred to as Bog Star. It is distributed across various regions in North America and Europe, including Labrador, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and parts of Flanders and Elverum. First described in 1753, this species is part of the genus Parnassia and is known for its presence in wetland and bog habitats.
