Boehmeria depauperata is a shrub or tree in the Urticaceae family, native to regions including China, Tibet, and tropical Asia. It has synonyms such as Boehmeria glomerulifera and the illegitimate name Boehmeria malabarica. The species is sometimes referred to as the Malabar tree nettle.

Description

Boehmeria depauperata (Wedd.) is a member of the Urticaceae family, commonly known as the nettle family. It is found in a range that includes China, Tibet, and various parts of tropical Asia. This species is also known by the synonyms Boehmeria glomerulifera and Boehmeria malabarica, the latter being an illegitimate name. The plant is occasionally called the Malabar tree nettle. It was first described in 1854.
