Achyranthes mutica is a perennial shrub in the Amaranthaceae family, endemic to Hawaii. It grows up to 0.61 m tall and is found in dry forests and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland. The species is threatened by habitat loss.

Description

Achyranthes mutica, described by A.Gray ex H.Mann in 1867, is a member of the Amaranthaceae family. Known as blunt chaff flower, it is native to Hawaii and grows in dry forest and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland habitats. The plant is a perennial shrub reaching a height of 0.61 m. Due to habitat loss, it is considered a threatened species.
