Torenia fournieri, known as bluewings, is an annual plant in the Linderniaceae family. It features blue, white, or pink flowers with yellow markings and is commonly cultivated as a landscape plant. It typically grows to 12–15 in. tall with simple opposite or subopposite leaves that have serrated edges.

Description

Torenia fournieri is a member of the Linderniaceae family and is widely cultivated as an ornamental annual. The plant is native to regions in Africa and Asia but has been introduced to many parts of the world, including the United States, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its showy flowers, which can be blue, white, or pink with yellow markings. The leaves are simple, opposite or subopposite, and have serrated margins. Torenia fournieri was first described in 1876 by E. Fournier, based on work by Linden.
