Blue Ash

Fraxinus quadrangulata, known as Blue Ash, is a species of ash native to the Midwestern United States, the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, and the Nashville Basin region of Tennessee. It also occurs in isolated populations in Alabama, Southern Ontario, and parts of the Appalachian Mountains. This tree is commonly found on calcareous substrates, including limestone slopes and moist valley soils, at elevations between 120 and 600 meters.
Description
Fraxinus quadrangulata is a member of the Oleaceae family and is part of the genus Fraxinus. It is distributed across several U.S. states, including Oklahoma, Michigan, and others in the Midwest, as well as parts of Canada. The species was first described in 1803 by Michx. Blue Ash typically grows in areas with limestone-based soils and is adapted to moist environments in valleys and on slopes.
