Scirpus atrovirens, also referred to as dark-green bulrush, is a perennial sedge that grows in wetland habitats. It is native to areas such as Newfoundland, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan in Canada, as well as several U.S. states including Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, and Delaware. It is also present in parts of Europe, including Hungary, Italy, and Belgium. The species was first described in 1809 by Willd. and is known by several common names, including Black Bulrush, dark green bulsedge, and green bulrush.
