Stuckenia vaginata, known as big-sheathed pondweed, is a species of aquatic plant in the family Potamogetonaceae. It is native to Europe, Northern Asia, and North America, where it grows in fresh and brackish water. The species was first published in 1984.

Description

Stuckenia vaginata is a water plant species found in a wide range of regions, including Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Colorado, Finland, Idaho, Kazakhstan, Labrador, Manitoba, Minnesota, and other locations across North America and Asia. It is not listed in the 2012 IUCN Red List. This species is part of the genus Stuckenia and is characterized by its sheathed leaves. It is sometimes referred to as sheathed pondweed or large-sheathed pondweed.
