Moehringia macrophylla is a rhizomatous perennial herb in the Caryophyllaceae family, native to parts of North America. It grows in moist, shady environments like mountain forests and reaches a maximum height of 18 cm. The plant has lance-shaped leaves up to 5 cm long, arranged oppositely on the stem. Its inflorescence is a cyme of 2 to 5 flowers, each with 5 pointed green sepals and 5 rounded white petals. The fruit is a toothed black capsule.

The plant is characterized by its erect growth habit and lance-shaped leaves. The inflorescence consists of a cyme with 2 to 5 flowers, each having 5 green sepals and 5 white petals. The fruit is a black capsule with teeth. It was first described in 1833.
