Abies densa, known as Bhutan Fir, is a conifer species in the family Pinaceae. It is native to regions including Assam, East Himalaya, Nepal, and Tibet, and was first described in 1854 by Griff. It is occasionally classified as a variety within the East Himalayan fir.

Description

Abies densa is a member of the pine family (Pinaceae) and is found in the Eastern Himalayan region, including Assam, Nepal, and Tibet. This species is sometimes grouped under the East Himalayan fir as a variety. The species was formally published in 1854 by the botanist Griff. Commonly referred to as Bhutan Fir, it is a conifer that contributes to the biodiversity of the high-altitude forests in its native range.
