Description

Bhesa indica, described by (Bedd.) Ding Hou in 1958, is a member of the Centroplacaceae family. It is native to tropical regions including India, Malaya, Myanmar, and Thailand. The species is primarily documented in the Western Ghats of India, where it grows in wet evergreen forest habitats. Some taxonomists consider it to be synonymous with Bhesa paniculata. The genus Bhesa includes species that are typically woody and found in tropical ecosystems.
