Citharexylum berlandieri is a flowering plant species in the Verbenaceae family, native to Texas and Mexico. It is a shrub or small tree that can grow up to 6 m tall. The species was named after French naturalist Jean-Louis Berlandier by Benjamin Lincoln Robinson in 1891.

Description

Citharexylum berlandieri is found in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas and extends south into Mexico as far as Oaxaca. Common names include Berlandier's fiddlewood, Tamaulipan fiddlewood, negrito fiddlewood, negrito, and orcajuela. The type specimen was collected in 1890 from the hills near Las Canoas, San Luis Potosí, by Cyrus Pringle. This species was formally described by Benjamin Lincoln Robinson in 1891.
