Berberidopsis beckleri, known as the montane tape vine, is a climbing plant native to cool rainforests in eastern Australia. It was first described by Ferdinand von Mueller as Streptothamnus beckleri based on specimens from the Clarence River. The species belongs to the family Berberidopsidaceae and is part of the genus Berberidopsis. It is distributed in the states of New South Wales and Queensland.

Description

Berberidopsis beckleri is a climbing plant species in the family Berberidopsidaceae. It is found in cool rainforest habitats in eastern Australia, specifically in New South Wales and Queensland. Ferdinand von Mueller originally described the plant in 1864 under the genus Streptothamnus as Streptothamnus beckleri, using specimens collected from the Clarence River region. The species was later reclassified under the genus Berberidopsis by Veldkamp in 1984. Commonly referred to as the montane tape vine, it is adapted to montane environments and is a part of the unique flora of the region's rainforests.
