Widdringtonia schwarzii (Marloth) Mast. is a species in the Cupressaceae family, native to South Africa. It is found in the Baviaanskloof and Kouga Mountains in the Eastern Cape Province, growing on dry rocky slopes and crags between 600–1,200 m altitude. The species is threatened by habitat loss, particularly due to wildfire. It is known as Baviaans Cedar in English and is a protected tree in South Africa.

Description

Widdringtonia schwarzii is a coniferous tree species in the Cupressaceae family. It is endemic to the Baviaanskloof and Kouga Mountains in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The tree grows in rocky, dry environments at elevations between 600 and 1,200 meters. It is under threat from habitat destruction, especially from wildfires. Conservation efforts are in place, as the Willowmore cypress is a protected species in South Africa.
