Protea comptonii, known as Barberton Mountain Sugarbush, is a small tree in the Proteaceae family. It is native to South Africa and Eswatini.

Description

Protea comptonii, or Barberton Mountain Sugarbush, is a species in the genus Protea within the Proteaceae family. It is a small tree found in the regions of KwaZulu-Natal and the Northern Provinces of South Africa, as well as in Eswatini. The species was first described in 1958 by Beard. It is part of the diverse Proteaceae family, which is native to the Southern Hemisphere. The plant is adapted to the local climates and habitats of its native range.
