Barb Goat Grass

Aegilops triuncialis is a member of the Poaceae family and is commonly referred to as barbed goatgrass. It is a winter annual native to regions in Eastern and Mediterranean Europe and Western Asia. The plant is considered an invasive species in North America, where it has been introduced and is prevalent along the western coast of the United States. In its native range, it is found in rocky and serpentine soils, as well as in grasslands, disturbed ground, and oak woodlands. It has a broad distribution that includes Portugal, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, Belarus, Corsica, Sweden, Japan, and the 48 contiguous United States, among other regions.
