Banksia serra, known as serrate-leaved dryandra, is a shrub native to Western Australia. It features broadly linear, serrated leaves, pale yellow flower heads containing approximately thirty flowers, and egg-shaped follicles.
Description
Banksia serra belongs to the Proteaceae family and is part of the genus Banksia. This species is endemic to Western Australia and was formally described in 2007. Its distinguishing characteristics include leaves with a broad linear shape and serrated edges, pale yellow flowers arranged in compact heads of about thirty, and follicles that are egg-shaped. The species was reclassified from the genus Dryandra to Banksia by A.R. Mast and K.R. Thiele.
