Bactris mexicana is a species in the palm family Arecaceae, first described by Mart. in 1844. It is native to several regions in Mexico and Central America, including Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Bactris mexicana belongs to the genus Bactris within the Arecaceae family. It is distributed across multiple regions, including the Gulf, Southeast, and Southwest of Mexico, as well as in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The species was first published in 1844 by Mart.
