Axonopus capillaris is a species in the Poaceae family, native to regions across South and Central America, as well as parts of the Caribbean. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and other countries in the Neotropical region.

Description

Axonopus capillaris (Lam.) Chase is a member of the grass family, Poaceae, and is distributed across several countries including Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and others. It is also present in the Leeward Islands. The species was formally described in 1911. It belongs to the genus Axonopus, which includes a variety of grasses commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions.
