Description
Aspidosperma williamii was originally published as A. williamsii by Duarte in 1972 to honor the collector William A. Rodrigues. The holotype is based on the specimen Rodrigues 8938, now cataloged as INPA No. 28313. This holotype consists of five sheets that share a single original label and voucher, and are physically stored together, fulfilling the criteria for a single specimen under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN). Brenan later corrected the spelling to A. williamii. The species is part of the genus Aspidosperma and is distributed in northern Brazil.
