Description
Aspidosperma subincanum is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is distributed in Brazil and Bolivia. A lectotype was designated from the original material described by Martius in 1838. Taxonomic studies have shown that A. chodatii is a synonym of A. subincanum, based on morphological differences such as leaf structure, corolla lobes, and follicle characteristics. Additionally, A. heringeri was described by Duarte in 1968 but remains 'incertae sedis' due to insufficient evidence for a definitive classification. The genus Aspidosperma includes several species that are being reevaluated for accurate taxonomic placement.
