Aspidosperma sandwithianum is a species in the Apocynaceae family, native to Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, and Suriname. It was first described by Markgr. in 1935. A lectotype was selected for this species to resolve uncertainty regarding the type specimen's location, as the original description did not specify a herbarium. The chosen lectotype is a specimen with inflorescences from the Forest Department 2108 collection, with the K barcode K 000587699.

Description

Aspidosperma sandwithianum belongs to the genus Aspidosperma within the Apocynaceae family. The species was initially described by Markgr. in 1935, based on the Forest Department 2108 collection. However, the original publication did not indicate where the type specimen was deposited. To address this issue, a specimen with inflorescences from the same collection was designated as the lectotype under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN article 9.3). The selected lectotype is preserved with the K barcode K 000587699. The species is found in the Amazon basin, occurring in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, and Suriname.
