Aspidosperma pachypterum is a species in the genus Aspidosperma, family Apocynaceae, described by Müller-Argoviensis in 1860. It is found in northern Amazonia, including regions in Brazil, Guainía, and the Inírida municipality in Colombia, as well as in Venezuela. The type specimen was based on Spruce 3345, but the original herbarium was not specified. A lectotype was later designated from the K herbarium (K 000587715) following ICN guidelines.

Description

Aspidosperma pachypterum (Müll.Arg.) is a member of the Apocynaceae family. The species was first described in 1860 by Müller-Argoviensis, based on a collection labeled Spruce 3345. However, the original herbarium for the type was not indicated. To resolve this, a lectotype was selected from the K herbarium (K 000587715) in accordance with the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN article 9.3). The species is distributed in the Amazonian regions of Brazil, Guainía, and Colombia, as well as in Venezuela. Taxonomic clarification was necessary due to the absence of the holotype for a related species, A. rhombeosignatum, leading to the designation of a lectotype for that species as well (K 000587719).
