Aspidosperma obscurinervium
Aspidosperma obscurinervium Azambuja
Aspidosperma obscurinervium is a species in the Apocynaceae family, native to northern Brazil. It was first described by Azambuja in 1946, based on a collection from Ducke 931 in the RB herbarium. The flowering specimen collected on May 16, 1942, has been designated as the lectotype for the species.
Description
The species was initially associated with a collection that included both flowers and follicles under the same voucher number. However, the flowering specimen was selected as the lectotype in accordance with the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN). Four herbarium sheets (RB barcodes 00535070, 00535154, 00535155, and 00535156) are considered a single specimen as they share a single original label, the same voucher number, and are stored together, following ICN guidelines.
