Aspidosperma oblongum
Aspidosperma oblongum A.DC.
Aspidosperma oblongum is a species in the Apocynaceae family, described by A.DC. in 1844. It is distributed in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. The holotype is identified as the specimen Martin s. n. from the herbarium G, labeled G-DC and annotated as 'mus. de Paris 1821', with the barcode G 00143976.
Description
The species was described by A. L. P. P. de Candolle in 1844, based on the specimen Martin s. n., noted as 'v. s. comm. a Mus. par. anno 1821'. This specimen is now recognized as the holotype and is housed in the herbarium G under the G-DC collection. The de Candolle family collection has been integrated into the herbarium G. Only one of the two sheets of Martin s. n. bears the G-DC label and the annotation, supporting its status as the holotype. The species is native to several South American countries. The holotype is preserved in the herbarium G with the barcode G 00143976.
