Aspidosperma multiflorum is a species in the Apocynaceae family, first described by A. D. C. in 1844. It is distributed in Brazil (Northeast, North, Southeast, West-Central) and Bolivia, including the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete. The holotype is designated as G 00143974, based on one of five sheets from the original collection, now housed in the G herbarium under the G-DC label. The protologue cites the specimen as 'v. s.' (vidit sicco), following the practice of A. P. de Candolle in his 'Prodromus'.
Description
Aspidosperma multiflorum, described in 1844, is a member of the Apocynaceae family. The species is documented in Brazil's Northeast, North, Southeast, and West-Central regions, as well as in Bolivia and the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete. The holotype is preserved in the G herbarium with the barcode G 00143974. The original description references the specimen 'Blanchet 2806', marked 'v. s.' (vidit sicco), a notation used by A. P. de Candolle to indicate specimens he had examined in his personal herbarium. The de Candolle family's specimens are now part of the G-DC collection. Only one of five sheets of the original gathering carries the G-DC label, confirming its status as the holotype.
