Aspidosperma eteanum is a species in the Apocynaceae family, described by Markgr. in 1935. It is distributed in northern Brazil, specifically in the region of Montería. The species was originally based on three collections, but later lectotypification was carried out by Markgr. in a subsequent publication, designating the collection 'Ducke n. 22445' (RB No. 22445) as the original material. A second-step lectotype was selected from the RB herbarium (barcode 00535037) to meet typification requirements under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN).

Description

Aspidosperma eteanum was first published by Markgr. in 1935, with the protologue citing three collections without specifying a holotype. In a later work, Markgr. designated the collection 'Ducke n. 22445' (RB No. 22445) as the original material for the species. This collection, however, contains multiple specimens, necessitating further typification. A second-step lectotype was selected from the RB herbarium (barcode 00535037) to fulfill the requirements of the ICN (article 9.17). The species is native to northern Brazil, specifically the area around Montería. It belongs to the genus Aspidosperma within the Apocynaceae family, which is commonly known as the dogbane family.
