It is documented in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius. The species is distributed across several regions in Brazil, including the Northeast, North, Southeast, and West-Central areas.

Description

Aspidosperma discolor is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is native to Brazil. The species was described in 1844 by A.DC., with the holotype designated as G barcode G 00143945. The plant is cited in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius. Specimens from the de Candolle family collection are now housed in the herbarium G, with only one of five sheets of the original gathering (Blanchet 3388) bearing the G-DC label, confirming its status as the holotype. The species is found in multiple regions of Brazil, including the Northeast, North, Southeast, and West-Central.
