Asphodelus tenuifolius is a plant species in the family Asphodelaceae, native to North Africa, Southern Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. It has been introduced to Australia and the Mascarene Islands. The species is distributed from the Canary Islands across the Mediterranean to the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Description

Asphodelus tenuifolius, described by Cav., is a member of the Asphodelaceae family. It is found in regions including Madeira, Belgium, Algeria, India, and Afghanistan, among others. The plant has a fibrous root system and is commonly present in Mediterranean and surrounding areas. It was first published in 1801.
