Asiatic holly fern

Cyrtomium caryotideum belongs to the Dryopteridaceae family and is commonly referred to as Asiatic holly fern. This fern species was first described by C.Presl in 1836. It is distributed across several regions, including China (North-Central, South-Central, and Southeast), Japan, Korea, and parts of Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Myanmar, and the Philippines. It also occurs in the Himalayas, from East to West, and in parts of the United States such as Alabama and Louisiana. Its range extends to islands including Hawaii and Taiwan, as well as to Assam, Nepal, Pakistan, and Tibet.
