Asian Spruce

Picea schrenkiana, known as Asian Spruce, is a spruce species native to the Tian Shan mountains of Central Asia and Xinjiang in western China. It is found at elevations between 1,200 and 3,500 meters, typically in pure forests or occasionally mixed with the Tien Shan variety of Siberian fir. The species honors Alexander von Schrenk (1816–1876).
Description
Picea schrenkiana (Fisch. & C.A.Mey.) belongs to the genus Picea in the family Pinaceae. It is native to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Xinjiang, with a global distribution. This species was first described in 1842 and is commonly referred to as Asian Spruce in English and other languages. It is adapted to high-altitude environments and is often found growing in dense, pure stands.
