Spiranthes infernalis is a species of orchid in the Orchidaceae family, found only in Nevada. It is known from four locations, all within a small area near Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Nye County. This orchid grows in seasonally wet meadows.

Description

Spiranthes infernalis, commonly known as Ash Meadows Ladies’-Tresses, is an orchid species native to Nevada. It is known from four locations, all within a limited area near Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 90 miles WNW of Las Vegas. The species was first described in 1989 by Sheviak. It is adapted to seasonally wet meadow habitats. The genus Spiranthes is part of the Orchidaceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants.
