Asemeia apopetala is a flowering plant in the Polygalaceae family, known as Brandegee milkwort or rama mora. It is a shrub or small tree with pink to magenta flowers that bloom from September to November or during periods of high rainfall. Endemic to Baja California Sur, Mexico, it was first described in 1889 and serves as the type species for the subgenus Apopetala of Asemeia.
Description
Asemeia apopetala (Brandegee) J.F.B.Pastore & J.R.Abbott is a species in the milkwort family (Polygalaceae) native to Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is a shrub or small tree with showy pink to magenta flowers that bloom from September to November, or at any time with sufficient rainfall. The species was first described in 1889 and is the type for the subgenus Apopetala within the genus Asemeia.
