Botrychium ascendens, known as Ascending Grapefern, is a fern species in the Ophioglossaceae family. It is native to North America, found in regions from British Columbia to northern California and parts of eastern Canada. The plant grows from an underground caudex and has a single yellow-green leaf up to 6 cm tall. The leaf is divided into a sterile part with fan- or wedge-shaped leaflets and a fertile part with small clusters of sporangia for reproduction.
