Triglochin maritima is a flowering plant in the family Juncaginaceae, commonly known as Arrow-Grass. It is distributed across regions in North America, Europe, and parts of the Northern Hemisphere. The species is typically found in brackish and freshwater marshes, wet sandy beaches, fens, bogs, and damp grasslands. It has a circumboreal range, being common in coastal areas of the British Isles but rare inland.

Description

Triglochin maritima, described by Linnaeus in 1753, is a member of the arrowgrass family Juncaginaceae. It is native to Labrador, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Portugal Continental, Flanders, SE, Vermont-US, and other regions. The plant thrives in wetland habitats, including brackish and freshwater marshes, wet sandy beaches, fens, and bogs. It is common along the coasts of the British Isles but uncommon in inland areas. The specific epithet was originally spelled 'maritimum' in the protologue.
