Kallstroemia grandiflora, known as the Arizona poppy, is a summer annual herb found in the deserts of the Southwestern United States, California, and northern Mexico. Despite its common name, it is not a true poppy.

Description

Kallstroemia grandiflora belongs to the family Zygophyllaceae and is native to Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Mexico. It was first described in 1852 by Torr. ex A.Gray. This species is adapted to arid environments and is commonly found in desert regions. The Arizona poppy is an annual plant that thrives during the summer months.
