Alnus oblongifolia, known as Arizona alder, is a species of alder in the Betulaceae family. It is native to the southwestern United States and northern Sonora, Mexico. The tree can reach heights of up to 22 meters and is found in Arizona, western New Mexico, and the White Mountains region along the Arizona–New Mexico border. It was first described in 1859.

Description

Alnus oblongifolia is a large alder species that grows in mountain ranges of Arizona, western New Mexico, and northern Sonora, Mexico. It is part of the Betulaceae family and is commonly referred to as Arizona alder. The species is distributed across the transition zone in central Arizona and is adapted to the region's mountainous terrain. It was first published in 1859 by Torr.
