Argemone rosea is a species in the genus Argemone, belonging to the family Papaveraceae. It was first described by Hook. in 1830 and is native to central and northern Chile.

Description

Argemone rosea is a member of the Papaveraceae family, commonly known as the poppy family. This species is native to the regions of central and northern Chile. It was formally described in 1830 by the botanist Hook. The genus Argemone includes several species known for their showy flowers and spiny seed capsules. As with other members of the genus, Argemone rosea is adapted to arid or semi-arid environments.
