Arenga australasica (H.Wendl. & Drude) S.T.Blake ex H.E.Moore

Arenga australasica is a species in the palm family Arecaceae, native to Queensland and the Northern Territory in Australia. It is a clustering palm that can grow up to 20 m tall, with a trunk diameter of 30 cm. The species is known as arenga palm or southern arenga.
Description
Arenga australasica has fronds reaching up to 4 m in length, with dark green upper surfaces and grey undersides. Leaflets are numerous. Inflorescences, up to 2 m long, emerge from the base of the fronds and bear clusters of flowers, with each cluster containing one female and two male flowers. The fruit is red or purple, nearly spherical, about 28 mm in diameter, and contains two to three seeds. The species was described in 1963.
