Agoseris glauca, known as Arctic agoseris, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to western North America, occurring in regions such as Washington, Montana, California, and others. The plant features a single flowering stem and rosette leaves that are narrowly obovate or ovate, ranging from 2.0 to 46.0 cm in length. The peduncle is 5.0 to 90.0 cm long, and the heads contain 15 to 150 yellow flowers. The achenes are narrowly ovoid or fusiform, with a beak 1.0 to 4.0 mm long. The species was first published in 1833.
Description
Agoseris glauca is a herbaceous plant with a single flowering stem. Rosette leaves are narrowly obovate or ovate, sometimes ciliate or undulate, and may be tomentose, pubescent, or glabrous. The peduncle is 5.0 to 60.0 cm long, glabrous or glandular, and may be apically puberulous or woolly. The involucre is cylindric-campanulate or hemispherical, with bracts that may be purplish medially or green. Corollas are yellow and ligulate, with a tube 4.0 to 18.0 mm long and a ligule 6.0 to 24.0 mm long. Achenes are 5.0 to 9.0 mm long, ribbed, and have a stout beak. The pappus is 8.0 to 18.0 mm long.
