Schoepfia arenaria is a hemiparasitic flowering plant in the Schoepfiaceae family. It is a small, multi-trunked tree native to Puerto Rico, where it is found along the northern coast. The species is known locally by the Spanish name araña, but has no common name in English.

Description

Schoepfia arenaria was described by Britton in 1907 and is part of the genus Schoepfia. It is a rare and hemiparasitic species, relying partially on other plants for nutrients. The plant is endemic to Puerto Rico, with no known occurrences outside this region. Its local Spanish name, araña, is thought to refer to its multi-trunked appearance resembling a spider. The species remains without an established English common name.
