Pycnanthemum flexuosum, known as Appalachian Mountain-Mint, is an herbaceous perennial plant in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to the southeastern United States, with records from Vermont to Florida and across several states in between. The species was published in 1888 by Britton, Sterns & Poggenb. as a reclassification of Walter's original work.
Description
Pycnanthemum flexuosum is a member of the Lamiaceae family and is commonly referred to as Appalachian Mountain-Mint. It is a perennial herb that is native to the southeastern U.S. and is found in states such as Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, as well as in the District of Columbia and parts of the northeastern U.S. like Vermont. The plant was first described in 1888 by Britton, Sterns & Poggenb. as a taxonomic revision of earlier work by Walter.
